| The n_tty_write function in drivers/tty/n_tty.c in the Linux kernel through 3.14.3 does not properly manage tty driver access in the "LECHO & !OPOST" case, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and system crash) or gain privileges by triggering a race condition involving read and write operations with long strings. | ||||
| CVE-2013-2596 | 4 Linux, Motorola, Qualcomm and 1 more | 10 Linux Kernel, Android, Atrix Hd and 7 more | 2025-10-22 | 7.8 High |
| Integer overflow in the fb_mmap function in drivers/video/fbmem.c in the Linux kernel before 3.8.9, as used in a certain Motorola build of Android 4.1.2 and other products, allows local users to create a read-write memory mapping for the entirety of kernel memory, and consequently gain privileges, via crafted /dev/graphics/fb0 mmap2 system calls, as demonstrated by the Motochopper pwn program. | ||||
| CVE-2013-2094 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 4 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Mrg and 1 more | 2025-10-22 | 8.4 High |
| The perf_swevent_init function in kernel/events/core.c in the Linux kernel before 3.8.9 uses an incorrect integer data type, which allows local users to gain privileges via a crafted perf_event_open system call. | ||||
| CVE-2012-1823 | 8 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 5 more | 20 Mac Os X, Debian Linux, Fedora and 17 more | 2025-10-22 | 9.8 Critical |
| sapi/cgi/cgi_main.c in PHP before 5.3.12 and 5.4.x before 5.4.2, when configured as a CGI script (aka php-cgi), does not properly handle query strings that lack an = (equals sign) character, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by placing command-line options in the query string, related to lack of skipping a certain php_getopt for the 'd' case. | ||||
| CVE-2010-4344 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Exim and 2 more | 6 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Exim and 3 more | 2025-10-22 | 9.8 Critical |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in the string_vformat function in string.c in Exim before 4.70 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via an SMTP session that includes two MAIL commands in conjunction with a large message containing crafted headers, leading to improper rejection logging. | ||||
| CVE-2023-0386 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 2 more | 16 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 13 more | 2025-10-22 | 7.8 High |
| A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, where unauthorized access to the execution of the setuid file with capabilities was found in the Linux kernel’s OverlayFS subsystem in how a user copies a capable file from a nosuid mount into another mount. This uid mapping bug allows a local user to escalate their privileges on the system. | ||||
| CVE-2022-26486 | 2 Mozilla, Redhat | 7 Firefox, Firefox Esr, Firefox Focus and 4 more | 2025-10-22 | 9.6 Critical |
| An unexpected message in the WebGPU IPC framework could lead to a use-after-free and exploitable sandbox escape. We have had reports of attacks in the wild abusing this flaw. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 97.0.2, Firefox ESR < 91.6.1, Firefox for Android < 97.3.0, Thunderbird < 91.6.2, and Focus < 97.3.0. | ||||
| CVE-2022-26485 | 2 Mozilla, Redhat | 7 Firefox, Firefox Esr, Firefox Focus and 4 more | 2025-10-22 | 8.8 High |
| Removing an XSLT parameter during processing could have lead to an exploitable use-after-free. We have had reports of attacks in the wild abusing this flaw. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 97.0.2, Firefox ESR < 91.6.1, Firefox for Android < 97.3.0, Thunderbird < 91.6.2, and Focus < 97.3.0. | ||||
| CVE-2022-0847 | 7 Fedoraproject, Linux, Netapp and 4 more | 42 Fedora, Linux Kernel, H300e and 39 more | 2025-10-22 | 7.8 High |
| A flaw was found in the way the "flags" member of the new pipe buffer structure was lacking proper initialization in copy_page_to_iter_pipe and push_pipe functions in the Linux kernel and could thus contain stale values. An unprivileged local user could use this flaw to write to pages in the page cache backed by read only files and as such escalate their privileges on the system. | ||||
| CVE-2022-0185 | 3 Linux, Netapp, Redhat | 20 Linux Kernel, H300e, H300e Firmware and 17 more | 2025-10-22 | 8.4 High |
| A heap-based buffer overflow flaw was found in the way the legacy_parse_param function in the Filesystem Context functionality of the Linux kernel verified the supplied parameters length. An unprivileged (in case of unprivileged user namespaces enabled, otherwise needs namespaced CAP_SYS_ADMIN privilege) local user able to open a filesystem that does not support the Filesystem Context API (and thus fallbacks to legacy handling) could use this flaw to escalate their privileges on the system. | ||||
| CVE-2021-4034 | 7 Canonical, Oracle, Polkit Project and 4 more | 37 Ubuntu Linux, Http Server, Zfs Storage Appliance Kit and 34 more | 2025-10-22 | 7.8 High |
| A local privilege escalation vulnerability was found on polkit's pkexec utility. The pkexec application is a setuid tool designed to allow unprivileged users to run commands as privileged users according predefined policies. The current version of pkexec doesn't handle the calling parameters count correctly and ends trying to execute environment variables as commands. An attacker can leverage this by crafting environment variables in such a way it'll induce pkexec to execute arbitrary code. When successfully executed the attack can cause a local privilege escalation given unprivileged users administrative rights on the target machine. | ||||
| CVE-2021-40438 | 11 Apache, Broadcom, Debian and 8 more | 45 Http Server, Brocade Fabric Operating System Firmware, Debian Linux and 42 more | 2025-10-22 | 9 Critical |
| A crafted request uri-path can cause mod_proxy to forward the request to an origin server choosen by the remote user. This issue affects Apache HTTP Server 2.4.48 and earlier. | ||||
| CVE-2021-3560 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Polkit Project and 1 more | 10 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Polkit and 7 more | 2025-10-22 | 7.8 High |
| It was found that polkit could be tricked into bypassing the credential checks for D-Bus requests, elevating the privileges of the requestor to the root user. This flaw could be used by an unprivileged local attacker to, for example, create a new local administrator. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability. | ||||
| CVE-2021-3156 | 9 Beyondtrust, Debian, Fedoraproject and 6 more | 38 Privilege Management For Mac, Privilege Management For Unix\/linux, Debian Linux and 35 more | 2025-10-22 | 7.8 High |
| Sudo before 1.9.5p2 contains an off-by-one error that can result in a heap-based buffer overflow, which allows privilege escalation to root via "sudoedit -s" and a command-line argument that ends with a single backslash character. | ||||
| CVE-2021-30858 | 4 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 1 more | 7 Ipados, Iphone Os, Macos and 4 more | 2025-10-22 | 8.8 High |
| A use after free issue was addressed with improved memory management. This issue is fixed in iOS 14.8 and iPadOS 14.8, macOS Big Sur 11.6. Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited. | ||||
| CVE-2021-22555 | 4 Brocade, Linux, Netapp and 1 more | 43 Fabric Operating System, Linux Kernel, Aff 500f and 40 more | 2025-10-22 | 8.3 High |
| A heap out-of-bounds write affecting Linux since v2.6.19-rc1 was discovered in net/netfilter/x_tables.c. This allows an attacker to gain privileges or cause a DoS (via heap memory corruption) through user name space | ||||
| CVE-2020-36193 | 5 Debian, Drupal, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 6 Debian Linux, Drupal, Fedora and 3 more | 2025-10-22 | 7.5 High |
| Tar.php in Archive_Tar through 1.4.11 allows write operations with Directory Traversal due to inadequate checking of symbolic links, a related issue to CVE-2020-28948. | ||||
| CVE-2020-28949 | 5 Debian, Drupal, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 6 Debian Linux, Drupal, Fedora and 3 more | 2025-10-22 | 7.8 High |
| Archive_Tar through 1.4.10 has :// filename sanitization only to address phar attacks, and thus any other stream-wrapper attack (such as file:// to overwrite files) can still succeed. | ||||
| CVE-2020-1938 | 8 Apache, Blackberry, Debian and 5 more | 27 Geode, Tomcat, Good Control and 24 more | 2025-10-22 | 9.8 Critical |
| When using the Apache JServ Protocol (AJP), care must be taken when trusting incoming connections to Apache Tomcat. Tomcat treats AJP connections as having higher trust than, for example, a similar HTTP connection. If such connections are available to an attacker, they can be exploited in ways that may be surprising. In Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.30, 8.5.0 to 8.5.50 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.99, Tomcat shipped with an AJP Connector enabled by default that listened on all configured IP addresses. It was expected (and recommended in the security guide) that this Connector would be disabled if not required. This vulnerability report identified a mechanism that allowed: - returning arbitrary files from anywhere in the web application - processing any file in the web application as a JSP Further, if the web application allowed file upload and stored those files within the web application (or the attacker was able to control the content of the web application by some other means) then this, along with the ability to process a file as a JSP, made remote code execution possible. It is important to note that mitigation is only required if an AJP port is accessible to untrusted users. Users wishing to take a defence-in-depth approach and block the vector that permits returning arbitrary files and execution as JSP may upgrade to Apache Tomcat 9.0.31, 8.5.51 or 7.0.100 or later. A number of changes were made to the default AJP Connector configuration in 9.0.31 to harden the default configuration. It is likely that users upgrading to 9.0.31, 8.5.51 or 7.0.100 or later will need to make small changes to their configurations. | ||||
